Cubmaster Moment
Hello Pack 270 Families,
Camping, Chuckwagon Derby, Flags for Vets, Den Meetings……May is a busy time of year and that’s just for scouting activities alone! Now add sports, and all the other after school activities our youth participate in and it makes for crazy days. As we begin to reach the end of the program year I know it can be hard to push the scouts to finish up requirements that were missed, etc. But the benefit of seeing them earn their rank at Tiger Picnic is so worth it. Speaking of Tiger Picnic…..for the first time since I can remember we did not have it on Mother’s Day weekend. On June 8th at Troopland, we will be having the Tiger Picnic (Rank up ceremony) for the Cub Scouts that have earned their rank and celebrate with a potluck meal. Also for this event, We offer a fun family campout opportunity as part of the event. We ask everyone that is planning to attend to sign up for a dish to serve with our pack using the signup genius link below:
With all the changes going on today, in my opinion the Scouting program is still heading in the right direction. I believe now more than ever the morals and values that the Scouting America program instills in our youth is needed. The Scout Oath and Law are guiding principles that even can be used by adults in their daily lives. I want to thank all of you as Parents for your continued support. Our Pack has thrived because of the support you all provide. I look forward to continue to watch our Pack grow and to see us continue to offer a fantastic program that is fun, adventurous, and educational.
As always, should anyone ever have questions, concerns, comments, etc; please reach out and let me know. I’m always happy to talk to and address your needs!
See you on June 8th!
Yours in Scouting,
Dave Bessey
